Humboldt County School District’s Student Art Show: Will be held at the Humboldt Museum from 5 — 7 p.m. The show features K — 12 grade student artworks from Humboldt County schools, including a vast array of visual art mediums and techniques. The Humboldt Museum is located at the corner of Jungo Rd. and Maple Ave. and will be open for viewing Wednesday — Friday 9 a.m. — 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. — 4 p.m. Opening night will be Wednesday March 2 from 5 — 7 p.m. and the show will extend throughout the month of March, which is National Student art Month.

Blood Drive: A blood drive hosted by the Hospital Auxilary and held in partnership with United Blood Drive collections from Reno at the Winnemucca Convention Center. The drive will be held Tuesday March 22 from 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday March 23 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 pm.

Easter Services: Grass Valley Baptist Church at 4150 W. Thomas Canyon Road invites you to join them for Easter Services. Good Friday Services starts at 7 p.m. on the 25. Easter morning service will start at 10:30 a.m. following fellowship time and refreshments at 10 a.m. Sunday School is regular time 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Nursery through Adults. Hope to see you there. Free vision screening: The Rotary Club of Winnemucca and Dr. Cody Bengoa, FCOVD will be holding a free vision screening for all Humboldt County school-aged children, Saturday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Grass Valley Elementary School gym. To schedule a time for your student, please call the school’s office at 623-8150 prior to 2:30 on March 24.

Easter Egg Hunt: Will be at 11 a.m. at the Winnemucaa Sports Complex (by Burger King) for ages newborn to 4th grade.

Red Hat Society Annual Food Drive: The Red Hat Society will be collecting donations on March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at McDonalds.

Easter Worship Celebration: The Orovada Community Church invites you to its Easter Worship Celebration on March 27 at 10:30 a.m. Take 95 North to Orovada, turn left (west) on Kings River Road (Routh 293), take your second left at the church sign and you are there. Easter Sunrise Service: Please join Sonoma Baptist Church for Sunrise Service on Easter morning at 7:15 a.m. at the Grass Valley Community Center, 13295 Grass Valley Rd. Pancake potluck to follow.

Final Senior Blood Drive: The senior class of 2016 will be hosting their final blood drive of the year on March 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the LHS new gym. Come by and donate.

Kindergarten Screening/ Registration: The Humboldt County School District will be host kindergarten screening/ registration at the Winnemucca Convention Center for all children who will be five years of age on or before September 30, 2016. Dates and times are as follows:
Grass Valley Elementary School (623-8150): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday April 11, 2016 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016
Sonoma Heights Elementary School (623-8165): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016
Winnemucca Grammar School (623-8160): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday April 19, 2016 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016
Each child being screened will need his or her original birth certificate (or a copy of the original birth certificate) and immunization record. Registrations will include speech and vision screenings. Health officials also will review children’s immunization records. For more information or to make an appointment, parents should contact the school their child will be attending.
